Sunlight, researchers have asserted, helps in the creation of vitamin D in your skin; it helps fight depression (Seasonal Attentive Disorder) during the winter months; it can lead to a decrease in the level of blood cholesterol; it can decrease blood sugar and lactic acid; like excercise, it has positive effects on the heart at rest, and can substantially increase blood production; and it appears to help in preventing or even reversing osteoporosis.
It is also claimed, on the basis of apparently solid evidence, that sunlight aids the body to absorb calcium; it helps strengthen the immune system; it increases the amount of oxygen in the blood; it increases the matabolic rate, resulting in increased weight loss, by stimulating the thyroid gland; it helps relieve skin afflictions like eczema, psoriasis, and acne; it can increase sex drive by stimulating the male sex hormone; it can result in improved energy, endurance and strength; and it produces a general and energized feeling of well-being!
We certainly don't know if it does do all of these things, but if it does even a small percentage of them that's a nice bonus to get along with a great tan!
An indoor tanning system emits ultraviolet rays, just as the sun does - but with this difference: no UVC rays (the harmful rays normally stopped by the ozone layer) are produced, a lesser amount of UVB rays (which begins the tanning process without sunburn) occur, and the necessary UVA rays (which oxidize the melanin in your skin to produce the tanned effect) make up the remainder.

Tanning sessions typically last from 5 to 20 minutes, depending upon your assessed needs, and are fully supervised. Our ultra-modern tanning beds include one vertical super bed and three horizontal super beds (each with 56 bulbs at 160 watts) and two regular horizonal tanning beds (each with 44 bulbs at 100 watts). Your consultant will advise you on which tanning bed is best for your complexion and needs.
